To wrap it up

My experience with IS101 was very challenging just because of the workload but also because I decided to be a full-time student while working full time and I forgot what is was like to be in college. Overall it was the most satisfying class because of what I gained out of and I got the three certifications for it. The course gives the work necessary to prep us to pass the exams, without LabSim and the challenges I think it would be difficult to pass them.

Instructor was extremely helpful throughout everything, beginning to end and he responded so fast when I needed help or was in trouble. The classmates were a cool crowd and it was nice seeing their Power Points because that went a little deep into knowing who they are better.

I gained so many news skills that I didn’t know before and I was shocked how much more there was to learn about Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

6.4.3 Slide Design Facts was my favorite because of how creative you can get. There are different themes and variants of them to choose from with different styles and fonts. The format background was cool because we can use whatever image we like and just change the transparency of it to make the text legible to read.

Overall, I’m proud of myself for wanting a better future and going back to school to get the job I wanted. Which I did thanks to going back to school this semester and taking Engineering classes. I am now a Mechatronics and Robotics Technician for the Engineering Department at Amazon. I will continue to go to school to get my degree and move up in that department. ๐Ÿ˜Š

This is the end

Excel was definitely the hardest for me since I knew so little of it. I was having trouble with A4-A6 but that was because I was also behind on my LabSim. After I caught up it was a lot easier. Also, I was having trouble with A5 because I use my work computer to do all my school work and some of the functions were not on my laptop so in order to complete A5 I had to go to school and use the updated version. I can’t update the computer myself because it has to be approved by my company and it requires IT info and password to do it. Anyways It was a fun and interesting way of learning even more, it was like homework and a special thanks to our professor for helping me with them.

5.6.2. Auto fill Options was my favorite from chapter five. It’s a time saver and it can easily be fixed for the cells that you want to keep the same from changing.

I used to use some excel at my last position but now since I got a promotion and got the position I wanted I’m not too sure if I’ll be using Excel as much, but I still have a lot to learn so maybe in the future I might. I just know that there’s a lot in Excel that I learned and most important part I passed my MO-210 Excel Certification Exam.

Being full-time at work and at school was not easy for me, I did the best I could and I felt like I could’ve done more but I was also in a position where I was trying to get my promotion as well. It was a lot of stress, not to mention the times I got sick, and poor sleep on certain days because I work graveyard and all my classes are in the morning. Bright side is that I made it through this semester and I got the position I’ve been wanting/waiting for over a year. For next semester I won’t try to do 4 classes because that was too much for me, if anything I’ll focus on 3 so I don’t get behind on anything and I can be ahead.☺

Update with Getty in IS101

IS101-3205, Spring 2025 has definitely been a challenge for me, it’s a lot of work, but once I complete it I feel good because I learned a skill I didn’t know about. Also, returning to school from over six years ago, working full-time and being a full-time student made me realize I don’t have a day off. If I’m not stressed about one class it’s the other three, but I’m not that far behind, I just need to get ahead.

In the future I need to actually use my planner, write assignments and due dates because keeping them in my head isn’t working.

How I prepared for the MO-110 Word certification exam, I honestly just kept working on my word practice forms. Not going to lie I had to redo them five times each till I got over 80%, so in doing so it helped me instantly remember a lot because I kept practicing. Also, I would work on it when I had the most energy. Especially when I was motivated since I was feeling sick for almost a whole month.

(4.5.2) Page and Column Breaks has been my favorite so far. I always read articles and signs and I always wondered how do they do those columns so perfect and pretty without messing up the whole paper. Once I learned, it was so easy, I’ll never forget that skill.

Overall, it’s been challenging, I get mad sometimes when I don't get 100% but I love the outcome when I do. I’ve learned skills that is not only to pass this class but that I will use in my daily life for school and work.

1st semester at CSN

Hello my name is Geraldine Guzman but everybody calls me Getty. I work in Non-Inventory for Amazon, been working for the company for six years, best company I've worked for. In that company you can easily move up, you can work alone or in teams, there's something for everyone. Many people may not like the warehouse life but those that do is what keeps Amazon expanding worldwide. I love painting, cooking, cleaning, watching movies, junk food, and beer. My favorite holiday is Halloween and my deep love for Disney is ineffable. My first impression of IS101 was shocking because I got an email of an assignment one week before class even started. Now that it's been three weeks I enjoy this class, I'm learning things I didn't know before and I know my knowledge will keep expanding.

My first impression of IS101 was "OMG we have work already before school starts?". But then I realized that this class only meets once a week and it's mostly computer work so it made sense. The amount of work we have is a lot but, it has helped me with my digital knowledge which I'm happy about. My first impression of CSN was "This campus is so clean and empty, I love it!". I went to college in California years ago, and I would have to park 7-10 minutes away because there was never any parking because of how many students attended. I would park by a park and I would be afraid because there always geese, and they would follow me. CSN is very close to home, there's always parking, meeting with FAFSA, the Cashier's office or my advisor the wait time is less than 15 minutes which is amazing.

I used this skill at work, if I’m not doing physical work I’m doing computer work. I used to know the basics of Word and Excel but because I learned a new skill about the Ribbon there’s way more to it than just the basics that I knew. There’re extensions to each section that I had no idea existed, but it’s makes it so much easier how much I can actually do on The Ribbon.
